The first issue of Sirena’s Whisper cited Cevat \u015eakir, known as Fisherman of Halikarnassus Bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131s\u0131, as the inspiration for the magazine’s name. The exhibition titled “Painter Cevat \u015eakir: The Visual Heritage of Halikarnas Bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131s\u0131”, organized at Inspera Bodrum Culture and Arts under the leadership of the Bodrum Maritime Museum, provided the opportunity to discover the painterly side of the famous author.<\/p>\n

The Bodrum Maritime Museum organizes important events every year to publicize and keep Halikarnas Bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131s\u0131’s legacy alive. Since 2011, it has kept his name alive by displaying valuable objects from his summer life alongside his personal belongings. “Hello Day”, which began being celebrated on April 17th, Halikarnas Bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131s\u0131’s birthday, in 2022, is also becoming a tradition. In this context, the painting and illustration exhibition curated by design historian \u00d6mer Durmaz attracted attention by revealing a selection hidden in private collections.
